Mission

The mission of the GRTC Workforce Development Committee is to facilitate and promote solutions that will contribute to the development of a workforce in sufficient numbers and skills to fulfill the technology sector job requirements of employers in the area.

Committee Membership

Membership is open to representatives of all GRTC member organizations. An appropriate mix of technology employers, service providers, employment agencies, technical training organizations, colleges and universities is desirable to ensure representation from all areas of the workforce development issue.

	Workforce Development Committee Mission The mission of the GRTC Workforce Development Committee is to facilitate and promote solutions that will contribute to the development of a workforce in sufficient numbers and skills to fulfill the technology sector job requirements of employers in the area. Committee Membership Membership is open to representatives of all GRTC member organizations. An appropriate mix of technology employers, service providers, employment agencies, technical training organizations, colleges and universities is desirable to ensure representation from all areas of the workforce development issue. Goals Create a forum for the exchange of ideas and identification of issues affecting workforce development in the technology sector. Serve as the technology resource for solutions and initiatives of Workforce One “to bring together members of the business community, educators, training providers, job seekers and community organizations to identify specific workforce needs of the Richmond region.” Establish and maintain an information link between GRTC members, educational and training resources to provide for the development of current and prospective employees to meet the requirements of the technology sector. Establish and maintain a program to match GRTC member opportunities for internships with students from the training and educational organizations in the area.
