Tech council legislative reception is Wednesday
Monday, Jan 28, 2008 - 12:04 AM
The Greater Richmond Technology Council is putting its legislative foot
forward.
The group will co-host the 2008 legislative reception Wednesday at 5:30
p.m. at the Library of Virginia on East Broad Street.
The reception provides technology business leaders statewide an
opportunity to meet and talk with decision makers from the legislative
and executive branches of state government.
Last year more than 300 statewide business leaders attended, the council
said.
"The legislative reception is a great opportunity for the Greater
Richmond Technology Council to thank our partners and sponsors for their
commitment to the growth of the technology economy in central Virginia,"
said William L. "Chip" Farmer, executive director of the council.
"It gives the entire tech community a chance to get some face-time with
the political leaders."
The reception also will be hosted by state Secretary of Technology
Aneesh Chopra.
The cost of the event is $50 for council members and $85 for nonmembers.
